Kernow camping pods
Surfer? Hiker? Biker? Beachcomber or gallery browser? Whatever you’re into you’ll be near it from a comfy base here at Kernow Camping Pods (KCP) with views over coast and countryside, in the south west of Cornwall about 10 minutes’ drive from the closest town and beach of Hayle.
The large peninsula of Cornwall represents the UK’s most south westerly point and is home to a mix of the best beaches, walking terrain, sailing and surfing waters, busy harbour towns and quiet villages. There’s loads to see and do around here, which is why we have created these beautiful eco friendly resting spots for the times in between. The pods are bright and roomy, cosy when Atlantic winds are blowing and cool in the summer, with USB charging points and lighting (solar panel) and comfy sofas that become double beds; bedding and linen is included (towels are not provided), with a great private decking area in front.
Our space
We have storage space on site for bikes, kayaks and surfboards alike. Our showers are pumping hot in the mixed communal washrooms and there are separate male and female eco friendly composting toilets, as well as, an abundance of lawned areas to relax on, or how about yoga on the large decking area in front of the pond, overlooking Hayle estuary, beaches and the lighthouse beyond?
There is a communal court yard area which houses a large Summerhouse to provide shelter for cooking when using the double camping stove with grill or single gas stove. It also provides communal seating with tables for alfresco dining, a fire pit - perfect for roasting marshmallows, as well as, a communal barbecue and, more importantly, a pizza oven! Currently, we provide gas for the double camping stove, all other fuel is an added cost, which can be provided upon your arrival and throughout your stay.
what we provide
We also provide each pod with their own cooking equipment in a box (x2 bowls, plates, mugs, goblets, knives, forks, dessert spoons, tea spoons and x1 sharp knife, spatula, chopping board, kettle, small saucepan, small frying pan, tea towel) and another smaller box to store food etc; both named and allocated to your pod, located in the summerhouse, as well as, an individual, eco friendly fridge/chiller.
All provided for your ease and enjoyment so the only thing you have to worry about is washing up(!) and while it may be hard to get too enthused about this, the outdoor scullery area on our site has possibly the best views from any kitchen sink anywhere
